Hanson the Caterers

PBA helped Watford-based caterers Hansons implement a sales and marketing plan aimed at winning new customers and increasing profitability.

We carried out a telephone survey of 50 catering buyers in the local area to raise Hansons’ profile and to identify the key factors that buyers look for in their catering supplier. Eighteen of the 50 buyers requested Hanson’s brochure and menus – which meant 18 ‘hot’ new leads.

We also helped Hansons design and print attractive shell folders and inserts, all of which promised cost-effective, delicious food that arrives on time – just what the survey respondents asked for.

Following the survey we recommended that Hanson’s add keywords such as ‘good food, value for money and reliability’ to their website, which significantly increased the number of visits.

Since delivering this initial marketing support we have provided telephone training to enable the Sales & Marketing Manager to follow up the increased number of enquiries more effectively and now hold regular meeting with the directors to keep up the momentum.
